PBC Biomed are attending the 33rd Annual Meeting of the European Orthopaedic Research Society (EORS) in Davos, Switzerland this week.

Chief Science Officer Dr Gerard Insley will be presenting a poster on behalf of the team – ‘Development of a Prototype Model for Lateral Split-Depressed Tibial Plateau for Bench Testing and Fixation Studies’, written by Gerard M. Insley, Thomas A. Russell, Paul Dorrell, & Antzela Tzagiollari.

Overview: Schatzker Type II tibial plateau fractures—complex and clinically challenging—demand innovative, ethical solutions. This latest study introduces a prototype model, initially developed in a synthetic bone followed by ex vivo sheep tibia, to replicate lateral split-depressed fracture mechanics for bench-testing.
This reproducible and ethical model enables robust evaluation of bone adhesives and fixation techniques under physiological load, and represents a step forward in accelerating the development of next-gen orthopaedic treatments.
